I dropped my iPhone and the screen broke!
First off - I'm sorry. That shiny new phone doesn't do a whole lot of good when you can barely read the screen. At least the screen still shows a picture and the touch functions work, right? Turns out it would have been a good idea to get a small case after all... People have been very happy with this iPhone 4 slim case.

Here's how the screen looked when I picked it up after the horrifying fall...
Not good. So what did I do? I started looking around for a new screen on the internet. The most reliable reviews I could find were on Amazon, and I ended up getting this iPhone 4 CDMA screen, although from a different seller. I paid about $60 for it, and am "mostly" happy with the new screen.
The next step was to find youtube and browse around for a good tutorial video. Luckily, there is almost guaranteed to be someone on the internet who has experienced your problem - no matter what it is - and likely they have made a video or training guide for it.
It took me about 2 hours to replace the screen, and I am "mostly" happy with it. I can say that I would have rather gotten a genuine "whole phone replacement" from Apple, but this one works well. I haven't had performance issues with the call quality or the touch screen, but there is a small yellow spot on the bottom-left of the screen. It's only visible when the background is white, so it isn't a huge problem, but I know it's there - and it bugs me. This replacement screen also has had a couple of "gunk build-up" problems, but I think that's just the sticky material that was holding on the screen protector plastic.
So, should you have your iPhone repaired or get a new one? It depends on whether you have insurance. A repair including the screen will run about $200 and it might not be 100% perfect. There just isn't a way to guarantee that the parts ordered from Amazon will be without defects. I'm assuming that I got a lemon, but there is so much time and effort involved in replacing the screen again, that I can deal with the yellow spot. On top of that, I'd have to pay for return shipping. It's just not worth the hassle.
If you've dropped your iPhone and you need a new screen, I'd be happy to install a new one for you - and hopefully your screen will be totally free of defects.

We were ready to purchase a new computer because our home computer was taking about 8 minutes to log into the internet and I was getting "HIgh Disk Usage" messages on a regular basis. I had heard good things about HomeTown Tech and decided to give them a call. Nick picked up my machine, took it in for an evaluation to determine if a tuneup could bring new life or if a new machine was in order.
I am happy to say that he delivered our machine today and after getting rid of Norton and a few other hardward items that had not been used for years and adding 3 times the memory, our machine is like new. I can't believe the difference. Thank you for a job well done. Joyce
